Long drive with boost
I just bought a turbo s2000 after my stock s2000 broke down. I’d like to take it (as my only car currently) on a 4 hour drive but I’m super paranoid. Is there anything I should do to prepare or stuff to bring. It was tuned to around 650hp but now it’s tuned down to 450 since it’s my daily for the time being. I’m just worried about it blowing up or something going wrong since I didn’t build it and don’t quite know everything about it.

Assuming the engine is healthy and the tune is solid it shouldn't be an issue. It's not like you're beating on it in full boost for the entire trip.
What ecu are you using? Safeguards set up? What sensors do you have? Wideband o2? Oil pressure? Etc...

engine is at 90k miles and I changed all the fluids when I got it so engine is in tip top shape. AEM series 2 ecu, AEM wideband/ethanol/boost gauge
I've heard rumors you can drive a "boosted" car without holding the accelerator to the floor at no more stress on the engine and drive trail as any other car. Hard but not impossible to do and less fun.

I attempted to drive a turbo s2000 about 1k miles across couple states. Halfway home oil return line failed out of no where and had to tow rest of way home.
Turbo car doesn't mean long drives are out of the question.

Ya just depends on your risk tolerance. If you're willing to buy someone else's project car as your daily you sound pretty brave to me to begin with.
I would give the car a good once over to check for anything loose/etc and bring some tools with you. Ultimately like Ian said, you never know what's going to happen.

The car attempted to light itself on fire multiple times (3) as well as a dump tube breaking off and overheating like heck (stock rad).
Here are some gems of advice:
- Not all people do shoddy work - also don't trust anything any one tells you (triple check everything related to the install).
- Try to not beat on it too much especially if you do not know the status of the tune etc.
- Have you gotten under the car to check if the oil lines etc are good to go / nothing is melting, rubbing or fraying? Losing an engine due to an oil line giving out or a wastegate boost reference line melting would be a very sad day.
- Take spare tools and fluids with you in case you find yourself in a predicament / pickle...
- Take a fire extinguisher with you as well (just to be safe, you never know).
- I would monitor you wide-band O2 and oil pressure if those metrics are available to you during the drive.
- Give the car breaks as much as you can and just monitor your engine vitals along the way.
- If you are anything like me - post tune - get the car home and then start going through the setup and make sure everything is buttoned up and is good to go.
- Did you check to see what the fuel system looks like? often times - even with the SOS wiring kit - the wiring that goes to power the pump is under-gunned for the task and will fail on you. Do you have supplies to Macguiver this or can you ensure that the wiring for your fuel pump is sorted before you travel?
