Default looking to go forced induction but....

.... dont want to go too crazy. I have a stock AP1 and would like a lower grade setup to get maybe 300 to 325 WHP. Is there anyway to do this without spending a fortune? ive seen the Greedy turbo kits going for about 5G but i wanna spend about 2G if thats possible??

Im not even sure which is a better choice, Turbo or SC. Id like more power in the midrange.

i looked around in this forum for some lower end solutions but couldnt find anything. I also was looking at the ITB upgrades but those cost just as much as a turbo or SC kit from what im seeing. So im just looking for some ideas....

if there is a way to push about 300WHP out of a stock AP1 without forced induction im all ears.

thanks guys...

But regardless id like to get a bit more power outta my S if possible...

Not going to happen. You need at least 4-5 grand to do a basic turbo or supercharger kit on our cars.

If you think spending 5G is a fortune, then I would wait until you have more money. You MIGHT be able to piece a kit together for 2k (no ECU, no clutch, no tune) but then
either
A) be unhappy with "only" 300, and spend more to make more. OR
B) break down, spend more money to make it work.
Either way, you're highly likely spending more money at one point or another. Just wait until you have the funds to do it right the first time. You don't have to spend a TON of money, but you get what you pay for.

Yeah i see your points. Thing is i dont want to go to 400HP or above and would be happy with 300 to 350 hitting at the wheels. Its not the cost of the turbo or SC that bugs me, its just im not a mechanic and would have to have a shop or someone do it which is where i might spend a fortune.

Just wanted your ideas..thanks fro the feedback guys..

You can get a good reliable sc setup for around $2500. No need to change the clutch or get a full standalone If you only want around 300hp.

If you get a comptech sc just use the ct fpr and esm and you will be okay.

Now thats what wanted to hear!! I dont want to have to do the whole aftermarket clutch unless i have too. i consider what i want a " light " power upgrade from stock, not like some of the 450+ HP beasts i see on here. Wish i could go that far with my S...

every now and then you will find a good deal on a used Comptech Supercharger, a local here was selling his for $1,500 non aftercooled or $1,800 with the aftercooler, I picked up the AC and my other buddy picked up the rest of the kit for $1,500.

but you may run into other expenses,

Recommend some type of EMS although not 100% needed for 300rwhp
larger fuel pump
tuning

Save up a little more and get everything you need/want at once.

I bought my kit for $2,800 back in 2006 non aftercooled, but I also had my block built, bought an AEM EMS, injectors, Header, exhaust and so on, and installed everything at once, all just for 300rwhp, knowing that one day I would want more.
