Default Low Compression Pistons with Stock Bore

It would be nice to be able to freshen up a block with a set of bearings, low comp pistons and rings rather than going through the trouble of sleeving.

Has anyone ever had a set of low comp pistons made for the stock bore?
What about having the stock pistons milled?
What is the weakest point of the motor the factory rods and thrust bearing?

I believe Inline Pro sells lower compression pistons that work with our FRM cylinder walls...

This is interesting...
I had heard something about a specific piston that would work also but could never actually find the specific information..

Call laskey, they can get cp pistons for our frm cylinders in 9 to 1 compression. I was quoted under $600 for a set with rings. He did say however that he had only sold 1 set and never heard any thing back from the user.

I was thinking about doing the same thing, but my cylinder was scored so I scrapped that idea.

You could fit a -7cc H22 Mahle gold series pistons. You would need to bush down the pin end of the rod from 23mm to 22mm, and possibly machine the crown down approx 1mm to bring the protrusion height of the piston back to spec.

Even with these minor mods its still cheaper than sleeving.

The mahle pistons are available in 87 or 87.25mm size so you can get the plus size and hone out any minor bore damage.

i know inline pro makes them and they have a car running around with 450whp on pump. This could be old news, I heard this about 4 months ago.

When it comes time for me to build a motor, im going to do it right the first time and just sleeve it.

How much more is it to sleeve the motor? I wouldn't think it would be more than $1500 or so but i could be wrong...
