I've run the 3.90s with 500 rwhp (supercharged not turbocharged) and 3.90s are a vast improvement over the 4.10s. Hitting 130mph in 4th and still not hitting the 9500 rpm redline is fun. With 600 rwhp the 3.90s would be a good choice.

DeadZero was running the 3.90s with his 658 rwhp setup.

^I have a fully built Supertech head; inconel ex valves, nitrite SS in valves, dual valve springs with spring locators and ti retainers. Also new seals and stock ex valve guides.

I just wanted to know if the stock 02 bottom end that only has 14k miles on it is able to rev to 9400-9500 rpm safely without coming apart.

Are you still on the stock block and a built head reving to 9500 rpm? I'm just curious as I still have the stock block but now a built Supertech head and was hoping it would be safe to rev the stock block to 9400-9500 rpm on my turbo setup.
I'm running a Laskey built bottom end with CP pistons and Pauter rods.

I have 4.57r gears, does this suit a stock'ish SC setup 7psi?

Or do they have a decremental effect?

Cheers

That should be one screamer.

Stock supercharger setups can benefit from lower gears for the most part just a little less than naturally aspirated.
It's all a big continum where you give off a little in one area for a benefit in another.
As the power goes up the need for lower gears decreases dramatically since the power is too much for the lower gearing and spins the tires too easily. Too much shifting and loss of control results.
