Default major work, drive to tuner safe?

hey guys,

i just finish installing a 3mm headgasket and added a 12.5 psi pulley on a vortech supercharger, you guys think it safe to drive it to the tuner if i keep it under 7psi? or would it be all out of wack since the compression is lower? im not gona install my new map sensor and injectors until i get it to the tuner. its gona be a 30 mile freeway drive.

thanks for the input guys!

The boost will be different as per RPM because of the pully change, this will throw off all your fuel tables if you are running a stand alone...tough call, if it starts throwing lights thats what AAA is for lol

That certainly is good advice.

Let the tuner verify the timing is correct and all before driving it. Did you upgrade the map sensor?

I would not boost at all in your situation. You don't have to boost, you can drive above the speed limit and still not see boost if you keep your foot out of it.

i had church's tune it stock before with the vortech supercharger boosting 7.2 psi on the AEM EMS, thats why i was thinking it was still alright to be boosting that high.
and my 4.77 gearing is gona be tough to not hit boost, lol

towing gona cost me and im already tapped out from this upgrade damitt haha

i got a GM Map sensor to replace the stock one.

Do you have a boost gauge installed?

Maybe you can drive to the tuner with the supercharger belt off.

Good, the gauge makes it easy monitor vacuum/boost so you can modulate the throttle and keep it below 0psi.
