Make an 06 motor work in AP1 w/ AEM EMS
Got an offer on a nice low miles F22 from an '06 DBW.
Does anyone know what needs to be swapped to make it work?
So far Ive discovered you need to swap the..
-valve cover
-intake manifold/ tb
-2 sensors (crank & something else)
Is there anything else? Are the senors easily accessible or do you have to start tearing the motor down?
thanks for the help

should be the exact same thing as the 04/05 f22c.. just swap out and use ur ap1 harness and get rid of the dbw components such as the tb and such and use ur ap1 stuff

From what I've been told, it actually isn't that simple. The 06 and up AP2 cylinder heads are missing the air injection ports present in the 04-05 AP2 and 00-03 AP1 cylinder heads. Not sure if you could machine them in there or not.

I purchased the motor, after reading this thread & talking to a few locals it seems like it wont be that bad. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...c=563105&st=25
Both motors will be on stands so swapping parts should be a breeze. We are already taking off the oil pan on the newer motor to tap the girdle, a few more bolts and the front cover comes off to change the pulsur & crank sensor.
Then it just swapping the cam wheels which I believe can be done without removing the cams. Install my valve cover, intake mani, fuel rail etc. Swap the harness over & its basically done.
