Manual Boost Controller issue
Ok I took apart my Manual Boost controller and re-installed it (correctly) No matter how "low" I set the Boost it went to 10PSI, and I did not push it to see if it would go past 10 PSI. Basically at 3,000RPMS I went WOT in 3rd gear and though the RPMS never went past 4.5 The Boost seemed as though it was going to never stop climbing. The ball is there, the spring is on top of it and the "allen Key" thing is adjusted for "low Boost". My new MBC is on the way but I thought I had fixed this one. It is installed correctly, anyone know why this might be happening?
no, thats not it. I had this same Boost Controller in a couple of days ago then I put a Test Pipe in and tried to change the Boost setting, stripped the MBC Allen key hole thing, put the OEM cat back in, took out the Boost controller, waiting on a new one, but in the meantime tried to fix my current one and try it back out. I had to set the boost by taking apart the Boost controller basically, rather then just use the allen key, maybe that is why it is not working, either way never went above 10PSI or 4,500RPMS, becuase I knew it may be a busted MBC, just wondering what the hell could go wrong with it, pretty simple, A screw, a spring and a ball?????????????
There should be a plate or cylinder that goes between the spring and screw. Does is look like the adjustment bolt would just go inside the spring as is? If your over boosting your mbc may be leaking.
