Default Mase Turbo Impressions

I'd like to get a feel for how happy/unhappy others are with their purchase of the mase engineering turbo kit. I'm looking very hard at it. I'd really like to get a general feel. I've heard nothing but good so far, but I'd like to see if anyone has experienced issues as well. Here's what I'm looking for:

* Miles put on the kit
* Do you attend HPDE? How often?
* Any problems with the kit? If so, what was it and how happy were you with the customer service?
* HP/TQ (feel free to include your turbo model as well)
* Misc comments
* Are you running a custom tune or what was provided with the kit?

Very much appreciated.

I have 7k on mine kit, being Mase's highest HP 720whp/523tq @ 31psi, i don't have any problems at all, Mase tuned my car on E85, i daily everyday for last 5 months and race every weekend.

Precision turbo 6262BB was awesome.

Customer Service was great, since Mase out of town all the time, but i have his cell phone, so everything i need, he'll get back to me right away.

Mase

So what is it that you did not like? Why dont you be a little more specific with your response rather than a generalization. All kits are going to have some slight issues because no two cars are exactly alike. If you want a poor fitting kit go AFI instead.

There are lots of kits out there and the overall fit and finish of the Mase kit is very good. I have had no isssues with mine at all. The smoking turbo was precisions issue not Mase. With the proper restrictor the turbos are fine.

Good point. Sorry about that. What I found most worrisome was the supposed vibrations caused by the transversely mounted turbo. I had originally thought the turbo location was one of the pluses of the kit but if it's going to add any kind of vibration to the driveline that's a problem. I plan on using the stock motor and tranny mounts. I also expect extreme amounts of heat from aftermarket FI setups but a sentence like "heat from this kit is unreal" from a someone who's had experience with different turbo kits seem to indicate this kit is hotter than others. Is that so?

all FI turbo setups have crazy heat. the turbo has exhaust gas going thru it.

all sidewinder setups will have some resonance, or vibration, at some rpm. some will be slight, some more prevelant. i think the top mount and bottom mount setups have a lot less, but then you have all that heat just smashed in one small corner.

noone has complained that the vibration is annoying. its def not a deal breaker by any means. your best bet is to find someone local with that kit and get a ride in it.

LOL at AFI reference. agree 100%. i was all on that kits nutz till i read about the piss poor fitment. TRASH.

4k on mine amd ive daily driven it on 100+ degree days. TurboR and myself were both tuned by mase and i agree his customer service is spot on. Mine has a little vibration caused by my exhaust but i fixed it.

The kit fits perfect and makes great power. There is no other kit id buy
