Not a fan of the mase kit. Frequent breaks without bracing. I hear the dude was like batman as far as getting ahold of him at 1 point. I know he was supposedly slowing down on kit making for the s2k a while back ?

Granted I have the AFI kit and they are no better. Lol. Best of luck to ya.

mase made a designed a pos turbo kit. Everyone that bought his kit has cracked the manifold and has moved on to a different kit/manifold.

Mase is one person who is a tuner. Mase is not a shop that works on cars or a place that designs and makes turbo manifolds. He decided to make a s2000 turbo kit. When the manifolds started breaking and cracking he was impossible to reach and did not stand behind his product or his warrantee.

When buying a turbo manifold/kit you want to buy from a shop that has a history of making and designing turbo manifolds. A shop that been in business for many many years. A shop that actually list their phone number and has a person that answers the phone when you call.

Mase failed at all of the above.

I use to have a Mase kit. It cracked after about 3 months. Call him a million times u till he finally called me back and told me to send it back. I did and he took over 2 months to repair it. He cut off the number one runner from the head flange to the collector and welded a new piece in. When I put it on the flanges were so warped I had to pull it off and have the head flange resurfaced. Slapped it on and the manifold lasted 200 miles before sit cracked everywhere and fell apart again. After this I tried contacting him a million more times but he dissapered and abandoned all support for his product.

The s2000 engine has lots of vibration. The Mase manifold was made from very thin schedule 10 stainless steel which cracked very easy. You want to buy a manifold that's made from schedule 40 stainless steal not schedule 10.

This isn't just one upset customer either, his manifold literally cracked on almost everyone. There are better options out there.

Mase is a busy person, he travels all around the world to tune cars, in a matter of fact, he just left for Europe. Now the kit design was great, it just wasn't suitable for the S2000 with all the vibrations we have, i had the kit on my car and mine cracked within 2 months. I had a kings log style manifold and it cracked as well, however there customer service was excellent. I had a AFI kit and had no problems at all, grant it i only had it for 4 months, but not a problem at all. At the moment, we at jjautowerks have teamed up with Stage 6 Motorsports and they have designed a great manifold for me and makes power. This manifold setup has made more power then any others i have. I make 480whp at 15.5 psi. The design is perfect. Stage 6 have been around since the 90's and now are making Srt-8 jeeps boosted running 9's in the quarter. However, research the companies you choose to do your work sir.

I believe the convention is to ban non-paying sponsor accounts. I don't believe he was banned on malicious grounds. As others have mentioned, the Mase manifolds were prone to cracking.

JJautoweks and myself know Steve personally. He is a great guy and also great at what he does which is tuning. He's still on the forums and will post here and there.

Rice I'll put it like this and you see it all the time. A guy builds a kit and it performs well. Next thing you know a few friends of his wants one. He figures he'll start to sell them even though like mase only has one guy that produces them. They start breaking and he can't keep up with the demands and phone calls since he's a one man team.

His kit was known for making good numbers with the stock exhaust and pump gas. I want to say he made 450whp plus with the stock exhaust. At one point it was one of the most sought after kits unfortunately as mentioned just made out of to thin of metal and cracked A LOT.
