Default May need to rebuild

Car started knocking yesterday and my SC installed thinks it might be a piston. If it is, I'm gonna go low comp and forged internals I think. Any reccomendations for parts? I've never done anything like this before and am looking for any advice I can get.

Shows you how much I know . I'm still new to sportscars after leaving sportbikes for a little while. Any reccomendations on forged pistons/rods with a lower CR?

I am actually doing this as well. Race Engineering has the motor right now, they are building it with 9:1 CP pistons, Carillo rods, and Darton sleeves. They tell me the weak link will be the wrist pins which will handle 25psi, which is actually overkill imo, but whatever. I'll let the tuner determine how much boost I should be running and still keep it safe.

If you don't mind my asking, what are you spending? What kind of power are you expecting?

I PM'ed you a company and it's cost.

BTW, I have a sleeved block that I am selling for cheap so you don't have to wait weeks/months to have a new one sleeved.

In what capacity do you work for the dealership?

Check the facts from the source:

FORGED-ALUMINUM PISTONS
The high-revving nature of the S2000 engine necessitated the use of special high-strength, lightweight forged-aluminum pistons (the first use of this material in a Honda production automobile). The piston's minimal skirt area contributes to friction reduction.
