Might add a third gauge...

Thumbs up Might add a third gauge...

I am thinking about having my two gauges (boost and oil pressure) relocated from my a-pillar to the center dash (counter-sunk). If I do so, I will only want the dash cut once, and would have a maximum of three gauges in the center dash. So, my question to you all is this: if I add a third gauge, what should I monitor (i.e., oil temp, water temp, EGT, etc.)?

Really? I didn't think that gauge was all that important if you have your car properly tuned.

In order to monitor EGT...isn't the sensor tapped into the turbo manifold?

I vote EGT, with EGT you can tell if you car is running properly or not (ie, rich or lean), depending on the temp.

yes to get a proper reading you want your EGT prob to be tapped on the manifold on the hottest running cylinder

Wow! I didn't know the EGT is an indicator of whether the car is running rich or lean. Nice to know!

Sarcasm?

running rich, or richer will yield cooler EGT temp. if you are running lean your EGT will skyrocket, when it gets too hot then you know its time to shut down before shit starts melting.
