Default Is my BOV installed correctly?

I decided to cap off my BOV and have it vent to atmosphere.

At idle right now there is a continuous rush of air coming out of the BOV - then at throttle it makes the "whoosh" sound.

Did I install this correct?

Is that a bypass valve? I'm pretty sure they are different

If that tube on top is vacuum from the intake manifold or brake booster, then yes, this is correct.

You have idle boost because it's a supercharger and it's always spinning.

thanks for the info, that makes sense - I will snap a pic of my full engine later but yes that yellow hose goes to the intake manifold. Odd thing is that I did not get this idle boost on my Comptech supercharger with the Greddy BOV (Type-S).

Nice looking setup! I am no expert in these things, but here's my understanding:
You should have air coming out all the time at idle and also when cruising at a steady speed, to keep from boosting when you're not trying to accelerate. When you are trying to accelerate, the BOV should close so you get boost. And then when you let off the throttle, it should release. That's when you'd get the whoosh sound.

With the synapse bov what's the use of the filter if it's always pushing air out? I was told it draws vacuum at idle.. Is that correct?

good move venting it to atmosphere. Evan said while he was street tuning my 3.0" pulley he was seeing temps in the 180-190 degree range. I bypassed it the next morning and I'm now seeing 112-120 degrees while taking it easy.

I have my Dyno tuning day tomorrow at Blacktrax - will report back on results.

The car runs great right now but just not sure I have it all hooked up right....thanks for the explanations - it does make sense!
