Default My S broke down...

Hey guy's. So I'm driving to work, and I get about a mile away from my house, I start hearing a very loud high pitch whine/whistle. It sounds like the supercharger is over spinning and just getting louder or something. Then going about 20mph, the rpm's suddenly drop to zero and the battery light comes on. I pull over to the shoulder, and try to start it and it slightly cranks over but wont start.

When I first heard the whine/whistle get louder, I thought that the supercharger was going down and was gonna need a rebuild, but now I think the sound was something else maybe.

I've had a CEL on for p0420, which I don't think is related to this but maybe some of you guys might know better than me.

I got towed back to my house, tried to jump start it, that didn't work, and the battery checked out fine.

Any ideas?

Sounds stupid/obvious, but are you sure you have gas in the tank? That whine could have been the fuel pump starving prior to drying out.

I have the Vortech V3 SCi kit, nothing done recently. Battery checked out fine at 12 volts, according to the AAA guy.

I do have a test pipe, which is the cause for throwing the p0420 I assume...

The SCi is self lubed. Hopefully, your blower isn't hosed causing it not to rotate. Maybe try removing your S/c belt to see if it cranks up.

Could be the fuel pump taking a shit as well. Is it on the OEM power lead or direct to battery?

The Walbro 255 fuel pump is fairly new, about 6 months old. I don't think it's direct to battery.
