My supercharger works.

So some of you have been following me along in my 'my supercharger is gay' dilemna.

I went to the dyno today and........

yea. who would have thunk it?

my only question now is if the a/f ratios are way too safe (am i missing more power?) or should i leave it as is?

here are my a/f and boost results...

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y36.../boostaf-1.jpg

just for reference, this is a CTSC with no aftercooler, and an HKS mushroom (hideous) filter right on the charger. i have an invidia catback, and nothing else done to the car (stock cat and header)

the wideband probe was placed AFTER the cat, so i know the numbers are a little skewed.

aftercooler will help you out a lot. also, a test pipe will help too.

:iagree: looks ok to me :)

TelosHedge 04-01-2008 12:34 PM

oops - pictures updated.

i was thinking about doing a bored out throttle body next. i know the test pipe gains are quite a bit but i don tknow if i can deal with the yellow crap on my bumper.

any advice/suggestions/comments?

as the A/F is run behind the cat, they won't read correctly. But if they werent, i would say they are lean... but thats a mute point

TelosHedge 04-01-2008 01:10 PM

they were in fact probed behind the cat. the dyno guy thinks that because of that they will show about half a point leaner than reality.

either way this looks relatively safe to me - am i wrong?

safety is more of a concern over power to me.

also one more question - based on this type of dyno, how accurate are these numbers? they seem high to me. i know that different kinds of dynos will report numbers differently.

see it was making power afterall. Put a test pipe on it, and aftercooler and i bet it would pick up 30whp.

TelosHedge 04-01-2008 01:48 PM

actually i think i'm going the intercooler route - maybe a small smic and short route piping. not sure yet.

even better, make it a sweet fmic :D

FMIC will require really long piping and will increase lag (if there can be said to be such a thing with a SC). Not sure what an SMIC is.

Your only boosting about 6.5psi so there's not a huge heat burden on the IC. An air/water aftercooler will do the job nicely.
