so i have an inline pro kit with a 5965b turbo - the biggest turbo inline pro offers (i think) that does not require frame notching.
yea. so i must have messed something up because the damn thing will not fit on the car. it rubs up against the frame hardcore. i've even tried loosening the compressor housing while its on the car so it could kind of 'clock' itself into position - no dice. the comp housing is leaning right up against the frame.
anybody run into this problem, or know of any cool tricks to try? i'm 99% positive i dont have to notch the frame, but at this point i am not against taking out a mallet and 'making' room.
i have that exact turbo teleoshedge and mine does not rub one bit. The clearence looks very close though. I wish I had a picture of it though. I didn't install the kit nor was I there when it was installed but I am pretty sure the installer didn't use a mallot to bang in the frame. It is also not notched as well. So keep trying and it will get there
I have the same turbo on my car and it's a damn close fit... on hard corners I can feel the vibration in the floorboard as it barely touches the frame. I'm going to notch the frame to eliminate the issue.
still have not figured this one out. i've check the motor mounts, the subframe alignment, everything. sent pictures to inline and they are baffled as well. it may be possible that my manifold is a replica (bought it used) but i really have never ever seen a replica ILP mani in my life.
big thanks to chris @ ILP for helping me out throughout this whole adventure. they really are great over there.
i can't believe i'm going to notch my freakin frame for this turbo.
its not even a barely touching kind of thing. the compressor housing will simply just not fit on the car.
i started to notch out a bit. i took a dremel and made 2 lines in the area i needed (although i have not yet cut all the way through.) this seemed to make it a bit easier for the hammer to do its job. i'm going to try to cut and hammer as little as possible as it is obviously not a huge turbo.
i will post pictures when i am done.
btw, if anybody has any last minute tricks to try now is the time the let them out lol.
