Default Need advise

I currently have a 2001 gpw. I bought a second engine to build so the car will have as little downtime as possible. I already have 4 piston pro head on the way. After tearing down the engine, I found that it had starved of oil, and the #4 cyl wall is damaged. Plans are to have it sleeved at golden eagle. Future plans are to add a KW supercharger. Tulsa really sucks for gas, only have 91 available. My question is what compression ratio should i go with. Other plans are to do a flex fuel sensor to run and mix e85.

If it were up to me I'd keep it stock compression. Something about high compression, VTEC and turbo gets my juices flowing. With a good tune, especially on E85 and proper maintenance you should have no problem running that setup for years on end.

Curious to know what is wrong with your current motor.

Nothing at all, it has 130k. It is also my only car so building another engine then swapping it in when finished yealds the least amount of downtime for the car.

Well i highly doubt the kw supercharger is going to max out the stock motor. Your better off doing a compression test and if everything works out go throw the kit on. Stock block has made plenty of power and its pointless to have a built head on these cars.

I don't think any supercharger kit will be a problem for a stock motor.

The only reason i have the head is because i was in the process of building a k24 when i acquired the s2k. I had already bought the 4 piston head, and it had just arrived. Luke at 4 piston (great guy) let me ship them back the built PRB and swap it for one for the s2k. this solves one of the issues i had with the s2k (stock retainers) I had read somewhere that they crack. While not like most cars, the s2k surely will have some benefit from a built head, especially on forced induction car.
