Need help with turbo decision.
Ok i am highly considering forced induction for my S, i have done some research with Inline Pro, it seems they have a quality kit. They indicated for complete install by them would cost around $9100. If anyone currently is running this kit could you tell me how you like it, whether its worth the investment? thanks.
unless you know what you are doing, i wouldn't recomment installing something like this yourself. you can't go back to yourself to ask why you need a new motor a week later if something is installed wrong.
$9100 seems like a lot to me, but i'm a cheap ass.

I have about 3100-3200 in my barely used Greddy turbo kit, that includes a bramd new high flow cat, AEM tru boost and UEGO wideband gauges, SOS A pillar gauge mount and other misc parts. The Greddy kit is fairly simple to install yourself if you are mechanically inclined and do your research before, which I plan on starting the install next week. You can add 200-300 for tuning and you are pretty much done. I am sticking with stock exhaust right now, but you can get a good 70mm exhaust for 600-900, which I will do next year. This kit with these mods will normally make around 300 whp at around 9 psi, and I am tuned out the door for around 3500.
Now I do realize that the inline pro kit makes 350-400 whp easily, but you give up CARB cert., and being able to pass emissions inspections because you will be using the AEM EMS, which is a great system, but does have its draw backs when it comes time for that yearly inspection.
Not to mention you are spending over twice as much money, and their kit does not come out of the box complete, except for the final tune.
It may be exactly what you want, and if so, go for it. Just do as much research as you can before you commit to almost 10,000. Good luck bro!

^ Agreed on all counts.
Start with a smaller kit, nothing major, go from there, especially if it's your first turbo. Smaller, cheaper kits are easier to troubleshoot, maintain, repair, etc.

just my .02 but i think not all places will you fail emissions because i know ppl here in washington that are boosted and are passing with no problem, it all depends where you live, ex. (cali) i hear they are too stricked...just my .02.....hav fun with the set up if you do do it
There definately are varying pinions on this. Go the simpler and cheaper route (Greddy or similar), or more complicated and expensive route, with more power (Inline or similar). I think Greddy and Inline are both good choices as far as reliability and quality go. Just research the difference in the two and figure out what you rreally want.
If money is no issue, than really do your research, because you will probably lean towards the Inline kit. Just know what all it involves, especially if this is your first turbo set up. Good luck!
