Default Need VBand sizing help for my setup

First off, sorry if this is a stupid question

My turbo has an I.D of 3", and the O.D is 3.75 inches as displayed in the picture

on the other side of the 3.75" , it is 3"

My downpipe is just under 3" ID and about 3 3/16" O.D

What needs to be done to make this work? a new flange welded on the downpipe? is there a clamp that would work without modification ?

This is my first time using vband anything

on atp's website it says for 3" vband it will be for 3.585 to 3.75" , this downpipe is under that

What kind of turbo is it? Precision uses wack ass vband flanges on the turbines.

You are going to need a 3.5 inch vband clamp for the turbo side, which may be too big for that smaller flange on the downpipe. I would suggest getting a new 3 inch vband flange for the down pipe, the one you have looks too be a smaller version typically used on a 3inch downpipe to mate to a precision 2.5 inch vband outlet...

It's a bullseye. I looked at my exhaust which is vband and it's significantly bigger and it's still for 3" you're right. I will try that piece and see if it mates up fine

Thanks for the help !

If it's a true marmon it should have a 20* taper to it. Marmon Flanges aren't flat like traditional VBAND.

Judging from the pic and the actual width of the flange, it certainly looks like a marmon, your traditional VBAND is a lot more narrow.

You have 2 options:

1: Send your Hotside to full-race to have them chop the marmon and install a reg 3" vband (do this)

2:Build a new downpipe to fit, as you'll need a 3.5" pipe, or some sort of flare adapter to flare to the larger flange.

I have the marmon on mine and have considered getting a 3" welded on and building a new downpipe as fitting the huge 3.5" through my engine bay is tough, especially with my plans to add the SP cutout.

Ok it does seem to have a taper as you stated.

this particular kit says it is for s200 turbos and s300, it is 3.5" and then i can buy a taper down to 3" however this ends up being 80$ in stainless http://www.himni-racing.com/turbo-fl...2f0426cd1cdf0e

this one is about half the price. i believe it should be the same, though it says nothing of s200 turbos. it is literally the same size.

i will email them and see if it will work
