Default new stock HG for lowercompression built motor?

I am assuming that the OEM HG is still the way to go with a built motor. But if I am wrong what company has the best quality HG for a 9:1 comp. build.

Well, most people would recommend the stock HG, but the newest HG on the market has change my opinion altogether on this subject. If you already have the block built, then I would say stock is your best bet. But if you are still planning your build, Cosworth's new 90mm Big Bore HG sounds really promising! It's 1.1mm thick, but is able to seal better than any other gaskets on the market (they claim). I am inclined to believe Cosworth on their claims, since I have seen some of their turbo applications in action.

90mm BB on a stock F20C............10K+ rpms!

its an F20c but has a small sscore in the #4. I am having it bored out into a 2.2l with benson sleeves. I may just leave that decision up to Laskey and there experience but wanted a solid idea of what the choice currently is.

So, you are having it bored out to 2.2 and not stroked to 2.2? I would have to say the bore will be about 89mm (maybe 89.5), since a 2.1L F20C is bored to 88mm (from one of the N/A threads I read a while back).

I would just go with the full 90mm and be done with it, if it were me. Just mention that you will be using the new Cosworth HG if you bring up the 90mm bore to Laskey. He will warn you that the sleeves will be at their limit when you bore to that size and you won't be able to take off anymore material safely, but if you have to rebuild later on down the road the sleeves could still be honed to get a fresh surface again....

I wouldn't want to machine the stock HG to match anything greater than 87.5mm... It has been done, but I am the type of person that likes to use things that are made for specific applications, instead of "rig" it to work. If that makes any sense, LOL.

^ i have been presidentialy engineering things for the last 3 years and this time I plan to do it right. i haven't sat in the car in 10 months and that is a long time to go without speed. I want to do it once make it as close to bullet proof as I can, get it to the tuner, pull 600 on race gas, then drive home.

That Cosworth HG looks a lot like the OEM Honda HG. Are you sure it is really going to be that much better than the OEM Honda unit? What could they have done to make it that much better?
