newbie with blown motor
My pauter rod seized on crankshaft while being tuned at a local shop. The golden eagle sleeved block and cp pistons are still good. Can i buy a new oem crankshaft and bearings and have them installed if the block itself is undamaged? The original crank had 33,000 miles on it.the sleeved block and pistons have about 4000 miles on them.I will prob go with crower rods. What other parts should be replaced at this time? The superG head has 4000 miles on it.I may have to replace the cams due to the valvetrain being adjusted wrong.the tensioner was replaced before the tune.should i replace any parts in that area? I am running a gt40r turbo with all the proper mods.
Where are you located?
You can probably find one in locally the Wanted to Buy forum. Shipping on the crank can be very expensive and being able to inspect and measure it prior to purchase is always a bonus.

the previous owner had the motor built,i misshifted one time, but didnt hear or notice any problem. i was having the car worked on for idle and cold start problems. the tune on the car was bad,and according to the tuner it was having injector issues.I had the injectors replaced, and the motor seemed to respond better before it seized a rod on the crank.
o wow that sucks man. did he tell you who built it for him? who did the original tune?
majestic honda has a new crank for around 800

I've seen a lot of AP1 cranks for around 150 or so... The AP2s go for more though.
The rod wasn't the problem IMO, that is probably a bearing clearance problem. Just out of curiosity, did the motor have a new oil pump put in when built?

wtf 800 for a crank? shiiittt buy a k24 crank and re-do it w/ custom rods for that price!!
i would also find out the cause of the problem. most likely improper bearing clearance, or improper torquing of the rod bolts. or the journal could have been messed up during the build etc. either way i'd tear down the entire motor and clean the shit out of it to make sure no metal flakes are anywhere to be found when you re-assemble it!

if u had bad injectors, your piston rings or ring lings are probably done. I had a dripping injector and my piston was done..You should do the k24 crankshaft.h22 rods, make it a 2.4L. It would be cheaper then probably buying a new crankshaft, pistons etc
