Default No lift shift AEM

So, quick back story, swapped to E85, still road tuning but expect to be around the 600-650whp mark (don't want to go over 25psi for now). I figure the GTX3582R will probably be maxed around then anyway.

Car is mostly a street car, but I plan on making a few 1/4 passes just to get a 10 sec slip. Few guys around here have some pretty quick cars, super charged v8 domestics, couple 500awhp eve's and a big subie following here. Probably going to do the responsible thing and get a FBM 8.8" kit with my tax return cash, but I won't have any cash left to do a tranny option.

I want to set up no lift shift to shave some time off ad set up anti-lag to keep spool up, but will be stock AP2 tranny take this abuse? Currently doing boost by gear 11.5psi 1st, 15psi 2nd and 18psi (where I stopped the other day) in 3rd and above. Thoughts? I know JoeyBalls had like 30-40 passes, including multiple passes at ~650whp and his oem tranny held fine. I think slowsi or someone else posted that their lasted 30k miles at 700whp. Thoughts?

I'm curious too as I'm thinking about shooting for 600+ on my next tune. I just installed a stage 2 puddy diff. But wondering about the trans.

Op what clutch you running?

Not sure how long your trans will last if you're no lift shifting, but InlinePRO dipped into the 10's (stock trans/diff) no lift shifting their shop car. John (owner of InlinePRO) drove it on the street quite a bit as well; I believe it was his daily driver (excluding inclement weather).

I've got a CC 6 puck sprung. Also got some nitto nt05r's at a steal of a price, so I'm worried the stock tranny won't last long. Although, if it lasts until next winter, that may long enough.

I've only got about 1500 miles on it, but it feels pretty good. It was rough at first, but after about 500 miles, it was good enough to not worry about traffic situations and daily driving.

Using the aem to cut power during shifts will help it survive, but it will still likely not last long.

Mostly, the car is just for the occasional highway sprint or top down beach cruise for fun. But there are some people I would like to race.

I guess my biggest question is, will AEM flat foot shifting be any worse than me trying to quick shift? I know the anti lag will keep the power up, but if I don't set up flat foot shifting, will I really be "saving" my tranny? I know its going to go one day anyway, just don't want it to be before I am financially prepared to fix it.

i dont really think you're going to save your tranny anymore between NLTS and shifting regularly unless you're preparing a gourmet meal in between shifts.
