No oil pressure
The only thing I can think of is that I didn't use any liquid gasket when I put the pump on cause the manual dosent state it. But my friend brought it to my attention and it makes sense just like if you try to suck through a straw with a hole in it all you get is air. That all I got
The o-ring I'm talking about isn't behind the crank pulley, it's higher up on the oil filer side, it's a tear-shaped o-ring that sandwiches the timing cover and block. As far as liquid gasket on the oil pump, I've never used it in either of the S2000 blocks I put together and never had oil pressure issues.
It's next to the idler pully, the pulley mounts to the right, the o-ring is to the left. It tends to move out of place during assembly if the seat it sits in isn't cleaned sufficiently or not enough liquid gasket holding it in place while setting the timing cover.
It mates to the passage that runs immediately behind the oil filter so I would think it is vital to oil pressure... As a matter of fact, I remember when I was washing the block in the parts washer, that passage feeds to the center port for the oil filter. Therefore, the o-ring IS vital to oil pressure
No problem, let us know what you find. If possible, you should take pictures as you remove the timing cover and pan, etc. That way, we can look for what might be out of place before you go removing too much and miss the cause.
Will do I spoke to jeff(minitoyota) gave me a few helpful hints with the priming that I may have not cranked it enough and filling the filter more (mainly cause i was being uber cautious because i didn't want to score anything on my very expensive motor lol. Will update tomorrow with results thanks for the help
