Default NooB FI Guy

Hey guys, I juss got a Vortech AC'ed SC and I got a few questions.

Any MUST DOs/DONT FORGETs for DYI installation??

As per the pulley/boost chart, unless Im reading it wrong....to get 9 lbs, I should get a 4.5" pulley???

I was told 9 lbs is the highest I should go without having to modify/upgrade anything. Thoughts?? Opinions?? Truths?? Advice??

BOVs....other than sound, does it really matter which one you get?? Operation/construction help boost at set points or anything?

Is the Apexi NEO worth getting and does it make that much of a difference??
Whas the lowest (SAFE) VTEC point to adjust to with FI?

Thanks in advance.

Hey, i'm not a SC'er guy so I can't help you out too much with the pulley question, but as far as running 9lbs I would definitely look into some type of better engine management (AEM EMS or at least an E-Manage). I don't think that you can safely tune for 9lbs with an FPR or VAFC. BOV's on basically for sound, if you like that, but the stock vortech unit will work fine otherwise. I have never used an Apexi Neo so I can't comment on that, but with Vtec engagement some people have seen better #'s by lowering it to 5000 or 5500 rpm, but that usually depends upon the tuner.

Thanks for the input Xclusive. BTW, your exterior setup is what I want. Well, the HT and the wing and the diffuser anyway. Looks good.

as for pulley size i don't know.just do a search i'm sure you will find an answer.

you would need bigger injectors to run 9lbs

stock Vortech BOV is fine

AEM EMS is the most tuner friendly.(just what I hear)

Haha. Also quite expensive and hard to find a really good tuner.
