Default Oil Cooler

are oil cooler really necessary for around 350whp?

I see that the greddy kit comes with a oil cooler and there only around 300.

And if it is recommended what you do you guys recommend?

actually an oil cooler isnt 100% necc, for any HP levels. I was advised to ditch my cooler. less lines= less pressure drop

i believe he is referring to the Greddy Oil Cooler unit.. i was debating this myself to just keep my underhood temps under check.. but i settled with a vented hood, a koyo radiator, and an EGT Gauge.

an oil cooler would probably benefit oil cooled turbos such as those greddy uses

It would benefit but its not required.

FWIW, it just adds another point of failure and (unless you track it a lot) its just not worth it.

I was also curious but does it help in the case of short autox's and short track events? Because I was in the market for one and if I really don't need it, I would rather have one less place for a mistake (i.e. leaks etc...)

Not worth it for a short race / autox especially autox as you have a long time inbetween runs then a 50 second race.

Auto cross ==> No
4 or more laps ==> Yes

However, it depends on your track temperature. The best thing to do is install an oil gauge. Even in a stock car the oil temp can get fairly high in Australia.
