there is very minimal/normal shaft play, so thats fine.

thank you for the information from the article though.

Your theory with the sensor is what I hope it is. I will try relocating it with an extended line and a t fitting away from heat and vibration. I'll have to figure out a different setup for that.

As for the turbo, I'm still unsure what the issue is, even after reading the article and researching other things, but then again, it can be a lot of things the article said. I will have to narrow it down with what I can troubleshoot... thanks

i have similar problem with 6765 DBB turbo. the sound is so close to this but little higher, maybe your video quality doesn't show it,
anyhow i found it's the oil inlet feed was longer than it should be so it's pushing a metal cover over the fan shaft,i replaced it with other one the sound was less but the cover was already pushed and the sound is still there. take a look at the oil feed hole and check it.

My 62/62 always hummed like that, and I never had any issues with it. As long as shaft play doesn't increase, I wouldn't worry about it.

i wouln't say its a hum though- its more of a higher pitched rattle. and it only started doing it recently. Im starting to wonder though, there was a time i took off the inlet oil feed line to move some stuff, and i didnt ut the connecting restrictor back on, so it was getting more oil flow temporarily for a while, but then i switched it back. maybe that caused a problem, especially being ball bearing- assuming there is a problem, that is...

If you sent it to Precision and they said run with it, I'd just run with it. No sense in worrying about something you can't control.

Remote mount it with a -3 or -4 AN line. That is a very bad spot for a sensor.

nevermind. called precision and they said their turbos have a built-in oil restrictor so another one is not neccessary. I guess that eliminates excessive oil to the turbo as a possible problem to my smoking issues, unless anybody has something to object on that...
