I left my manifold bare and used a blanket and heatwrap on my downpipe. IMO the blanket will do the most for you if you looking to reduce uht's (also depends which mani you have)

Its a Precision 6765-b Joeyballs. Id love to hear peoples opinions on this turbo. Its going to be on an inlinepro sidewinder race manifold(3" downpipe and exhaust)with a 50mm Turbosmart wastegate, sleeved built block, no porting on the head with stock sized supertech valves, springs and retainers, dual walbro fuel pumps,ID1000cc injectors(until i feel the need for 1600's or even 2000's),stock intake manifold and throttle body(for now). Anyone have any predictions on what number ill see if i max out the id1000,s on pump and race gas?

You should be able to make around 675 whp on race fuel and probably around 550 on pump. That turbo is pretty laggy though I believe and you could easily do the same numbers with the 6262 and spool is a lot quicker.

Have you gotten your dual pump setup yet? If not, pm me, I have a deal for you.

Thank you guys for your opinion. So from what i understand it's better not to use heat wrap around manifold as it can lead to a manifold crack. Theoretical this can happen due to heat wrapping. But.....does anybody have experience with that over time or is just theory?

If you insulate the manifold than you should have less severe heat cycles so I would assume that thought is backwards. The only problem I ever had with wrap was it staying wet and rusting steel manifolds.

insulate the inside you mean? wrapping and coating outside only keeps the heat in longer and keeps the metal hotter..........or less heat dissipation is a better term

I called InlinePro because I just purchased their sidewinder manifold. They told me that I should not do any type of special coating, but they told me I should wrap the manifold with DEI titanium wrap. Anyone use this stuff? They said they got very good results with before and after temps!
