Default PCV Question

I have the mini filter on the first valve cover breather, which has been fine..

The 2nd port w/the pcv valve going to a little catch can..

I don't think it's enough, b/c my dip stick will still pop up every now and again.

I was thinking of drilling the pcv valve and just running it open to the little catch can.

Thoughts?

it should be fine as long as the catch can has a filter on it

Similar to my setup, although I have both valve cover hoses to my catch can. There are a few holes drilled in my catch can to relieve pressure. One of these days I will tap a filter to it though as I sometimes see it venting...

If you have the AP2 valve cover you could just take the pcv valve out cap off the intake manifold and just put a fitting im forgetting the size and run that to your catch can that is what i did and has worked great.

I'm running a 90* barbed elbow in lieu of the PCV valve. That solved my dipstick problem . That and I just vented both to atmosphere, I haven't seen a drop of oil come out of it yet, maybe it's just my car

I'm assuming we're removing the pcv because there is no vacuum to pull it open?

Vacuum when not in boost....but when you are under boost, you are only using the one port on the valve cover..and that doesn't seem to be as sufficient. Evidence being my dipstick pushed up.

I am going to pull the pcv tonight, and drill it out.

Run a hose from both to atmosphere. Problem solved.
and yes definitely ditch that PVC for better flow.
