Default People using AEM FPR (mounted on fuel rail)

I see alot of FI users using a AEM FPR on there supercharged S's and am just wondering the benefits over the stock one. Wouldent the ajustable FPR's that come with the vortech and compech kits be enough?

They are not adjustable per say. The vortech and comptech are called rising rate FPRs and the mutliplier remains constant (12:1 or whatever it is).

The AEM and Synapse FPR are adjustable to any ratio you would like so it alows for a more precise and proper tune.

Vortech's FMU comes with a 10:1 rising rate ratio (there is a 12:1 recalibration kit, I just used a washer under the spring), but I'm still running a little lean so I have an AEM FPR sitting in my garage that I'll be putting on soon.

Im asking the question because im about to install my 7psi pulley on my comptech supercharger (non-aftercooled) and going to the dyno sometime soon, and thinking about adding a aem/synapse FPR for additional tuning ability ( i will also be using a wideband O2)

I considered an EMS but for $1000+ and my current set up s/c w/ header TP and exhaust, with no future plans to increase boost. Think the money can be better spent elseware. Im just looking for a nice healthy 7psi tune.

The aem FPR's are universal correct? Or is there special hardware I need to locate to install?

There is a universal version, but there is a certain Honda model which bolts right up to the fuel rail with 2 bolts.

You could just put the FPR on, run the car on the dyno, and as soon as it hits an unsafe A/F mix shut down, adjust accordingly, and repeat which is what I plan on doing. Or just get the recommended fuel pressure and adjust it according to that

Have you maxed out the capabilities of your Comptech supplied FPR?

^ From what I understand no, the comptech fpr will not be maxed out at 7psi. From what I understand with the AEM's people add them to get a more percise tune in additon to the rising rate fpr's that comptech and vortech supply in their kits.

If your not going to be using some sort of EMS leave the FPR that came with your supercharger kit alone.

The AEM FPR is only like 1:1 your run lean as hell with it.
