piston compression
HI all,
Im currently in the process of rebuilding my ap1 motor after my piston pin gave. i had a bad tune and the oil was full of gas. i have a small turbo set up and looking to push 14psi boost. im leaninh towards the malhe pistons and wondering which compression pistons to purchase. id like to stay as much to stock as posssible. i understand that the higher the compression the more low end torque is available. it will be tuned for 91 octane gas. do you think that 10.1:1 is safe for my application. also my current set up have 550cc injectors. should i upgrade these
thanks

If your not trying to make huge numbers I would stay with stock compression. My old street setup was a pte6262 at 17psi on 91 octane 480whp so I would say your fine. The lower compression will help with detonation but that all depends on how much power your trying to make. Stock CR drives alot smoother on the street as a daily IMO.
ive had the greddy kit for a couple of years. just wanted that extra torque. im considering upgrading the turbo to a gt30. not looking for huge hp numbers. my goal is to keep it streetable

10.1:1 in my last build deff would stay there no lower or you may have some lag... what turbo?
The threshold seems to be that if your planning on going more then 500whp on pump, then consider lowering the comp.
