Default Pkolaboy's Turbo install...

Hey everybody, I recently bought a pieced-together kit from another member off this forum. I have always wanted to turbo my 92' Prelude, actually I had bought a GReddy kit and was so close to installing it but sold it with my car at the last moment. I bought my05 SS S2K with 43k on it and never had the thought of putting a turbo on it until I rode in my friends 500whp S2K. This, along with me running an EVO X and having it blow flames in my face as it left me in the dust, gave me the courage to finally give in and start looking for a kit. This is my first turbo installation and am very found of the fact to do it myself. I honestly don't see the fun in throwing all your money at a performance shop to install it for you. But to all their own . When I did my first swap (H23-->H22), nobody wanted to help me and I was limited to my front yard and a cherry picker. I just said F it and it took 3 months due to my inexperience, but it started first try and just had some plugs backwards so overall successful.

Whats on the car now:

-Berks 3" header-back
-K&N FPIK
-Tein Springs

I took out a loan and was super siked to finally get this thing started. I bought MyS2Knotyours setup that he was going to install but he came into some good bumps in the road that he had to give it up. The kit consists of:

Turbo: Precision 5857 JB .82 Hotside
Manifold: Pfab Log
Partial 3" Downpipe: Pfab (V-Band)
Dumptube: Pfab (V-Band)
Wastegate: Tial 44mm (V-Band)
EMS: AEM Series 1
Guages: AEM UEGO Controller
Autometer Cobalt Oil Pressure
Autometer Cobalt Boost
Fuel: ID1000cc Injectors
Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump
Blow-off Valve: Greddy Type RS
Map Sensor: OMNI 2.5 Bar
Intercooler Kit: Godspeed

Extras:

-Odyssey PC680 battery
-Turbo blanket and exhaust wrap
-P2R vacuum block
-Boost Solenoid

My goal is 400+whp @ 13psi.

I am in the Navy and am in luck that I have a Hobby Shop near by because this is the only place I can do my setup. That is the thing, I can only do this setup when I get the chance and only have so much time after work to start on certain items. I am still waiting on a couple of items such as an oil pan (should be here tomorrow), oil lines and fittings, and T3 gasket and bolts for the Precision turbo. So far I have installed the fuel pump and oil/boost guages (started the AEM UEGO install today). My basic plan is to install everything within a weekend (FRI, SAT, SUN). I am going to drive to Sonics in Honolulu (well known for tuning high #'s on S2K's) and have them finish the downpipe, and tune. I just have a couple of questions to ask y'all. (I have searched all over this forum and Google and couldn't find anything specific that helped me)

1. Can I use the Series 1 AEM EMS with my05?
2. Am I able to install the injectors without the tune or turbo on?
3. Will the Omni 2.5 map sensor work on my car without the tune or turbo on?
4. Anybody know of a good site that I can buy the correct fittings for the turbo oil feed/drain?

Please chime in on this and give me any hints or suggestions! I will post more pictures and update as they come.

-Mark

Well there's trying it, and then there's looking at other people's similar/same set-ups. So that's 2 ways.

there are entirely too many environmental factors much less the actual set up.... but to agree.... he wont be at 400whp @ 13psi. 15-16psi maybe but at 13psi i'll guess 360-370whp. i wish you the best of luck!

yes

2. Am I able to install the injectors without the tune or turbo on?
No, the car will not run. you need a tuner to put a base map on the car so you can drive it to the dyno or tow it to the dyno.

3. Will the Omni 2.5 map sensor work on my car without the tune or turbo on?
No the car will not run. Run the car with the stock map sensor and install the map sensor on the dyno.

4. Anybody know of a good site that I can buy the correct fittings for the turbo oil feed/drain?
you can get fitting almost anywhere but summitracing.com is a good site.
