Thumbs up Placement of BOV - hot or cold side?

I am having some new charge pipes made, and am trying to determine the best location of the BOV. I have seen some kits where the BOV has been on the hot side, while other kits have it on the cold side. The shop that is making the charge pipes for me recommends that the BOV be on the cold side.

Which side do you think the BOV should be on and why?

i would be thinking on the hotside closes to the turbo to prevent the least amount of compressor surge

It goes on the cold side between the intercooler and the throttle body.

I have a log manifold and The wastegate/BOV will be on the opposite side of the turbo and housing. This will immediately eliminate any over boosting issues.

I dont think it matters... I've seen OEM placement on both. I say go with wherever it will fit best and look the best. If you have room you can even mount it on your intercooler end tank for better looking pipes.

I asked this question to my tuner because the Inline kit puts it just after the turbo and he mentioned that he has always heard it's best up by the intake manifold. Not too sure why though.

This is just anecdotal, so take it for what it's worth, but on my inline kit i have zero compressor surge. Every other kits i've heard in person has noticable compressor surge. Not sure if it has anything to do w/ the bov placement, but thought I'd mention it.

Put one on both sides. I bet you would never have compressor surge.

Justen, your charge pipe with bov flange is in the stock place for the linline kit - right after the turbo. Are you changing things up?
