Default Plea for help with KPro

Hi all,

I purchased a used Kpro off the forums here. It was the correct kind, meant for S2000. It had all the parts except 1, the harness that runs from the cam sensor to the ecu. I didnt know this was missing until I got it. I have contacted the seller many times and he is adamant that no such harness existed, but I've verified it with Hondata directly, the cam sensor harness should have come with the kit and is required. I have no idea what happened to the original one that came with the kit, but it doesnt look like I'll be getting one from the seller.

Ok, so I found a local distributor in my area and asked them to contact Hondata and get me a price for a replacement cable. No big deal, I'm happy to buy a new harness. Except it seems Hondata won't sell the harnesses individually. I don't know why.

So, I'm stuck with a KPro I can't use.

I'm hoping someone out there has some way to get one of these harnesses. Maybe someone has a better relationship with Hondata than my local distributor. I don't know. But the part is just some wires, it shouldnt be this hard to get. Without the harness, I can't even sell it in good conscience, so I'll have a very expensive paperweight on my desk.

Thanks,
J

Isn't it just an RSX-S cable? I know you need an RSX-S cam sensor, right? And the KPRO we use is the exact same ECU that the RSX uses...

I could be wrong, though.

I don't know, but if that is the case I'd be thrilled. I've never seen the cable, except from an image off Hondata site that showed it running through the firewall and into the ecu.

Very weird that Hondata won't sell you the harness individually.

You may be able to get something custom fabbed by a harness maker if you give them the pinouts and wire length requirements.

The install instructions on Hondata's website do not say anything about a cam sensor wiring harness...

Here is the instructions per their site:
[QUOTE]Swapping the parts is relatively straight forward. Refer to the Helm manual for more information, but in brief you will need to:

Give Sandra at Hondata a call. She can arrange a cable for you.

At first I thought this wouldn't be much help, as the first time I searched Hondata page I couldnt find any contact info for them. It seemed they routed everything through their dealer network.

However, I was able to find the number on there and Sandra was actually expecting my call! Amazing. She was able to provide a solution for me, that while a tad expensive, is way better than no solution at all. I'm very pleased, thank you very much for helping out here.

Very much looking forward to getting this thing installed now.
