Default Poss bad ring...

So I have my head off my car for porting and polishing... Ive sprayed wd in on the block to keep it from coroding. Now last night I had a lil puddle in cylinder#1 and today it seemed to be gone... Now my question could it be bad rings? Could it be due to no movement or heat the rings arent expanding? or its all in my head? The car Never smoked prior to head removal. she always drove like a champ. car has 44k on it please give me some input guys. q

WD40 is a very thin lubricant/penetrant and I wouldn't worry about it being gone out of the cylinders over night. It probably did leak past the rings but that doesn't mean you have bad rings. I wouldn't leave it mixed in with my engine oil though if you did spray that much. I'd change the oil before running it again.

That was the other thing I was thinking but it was in this one cylinder. I still need to drop my pan to tap it so changing the oil and flushing my system is my #1 priority when its done before any miles get put on her. thanx for the input

Now that I'm not too sure about. Hopefully someone here can chime in and explain it. But you may want to drop every piston to BDC one at a time or two for that matter since two move on the same rotation and look closely for any type of piston scoring. I know as soon as I get my head off, I'll be doing this just to make sure.

That's good news! Now, just make sure you get all that oil off the top of the cylinders before starting it up so you don't cause hydraulic lock and blow something.

You should be able to get a can of de-carb from a Honda dealer or they may have some in an auto parts store. A friend of mine is a mechanic at Honda and he uses de-carb all the time to clean out EGR's and things like what you are wanting to do.
