S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Potentially blown motor.

I won't get a chance to touch this thing for a while because I'm pretty busy, but from what I've mentioned, does this sound more like a ring/ringland problem? I'm not seeing anything that is coolant related so I'm ruling out the head gasket.

Also, what is the cause for the rings to go versus, say the head gasket?

^well, the oem HG is super super tough. so on a stock block, ringlands usually bust before the hg. detonation kills lands. up in 6'th with that much load changes a/f ratios slightly, more stress = more chance for damage.

Take a peak at this thread. Buddy of mine had a similar problem on his s2k.

Not so much about the car shutting off...but the smoke for sure. See if any of this info helps. His car is in Dallas as we speak and should be torn apart this weekend. I will let you know what we find out to see if it may help you.

why do i doubt that you were pulling on a bike with 320whp? my 500whp s2000 would keep up with 600's, but not rape them. and it deff wouldn't beat a liter bike...

I don't know my bikes that well, but I've encountered numerous ones on the street and this is the only one that has kept up

Anyways, I was tuned at 320whp at 7.5 psi, but after a couple of days, I upped it to 10 so I reckon I'm a bit more than 320. But either way, I'm now debating about going with a 2.2 L motor and throwing in the 3 mm head gasket but I'm completely lost now because of the controversial posts I've read.

Some people are saying they've run for ages with the head gasket and others are completely opposed to it.

I was pretty confident in the tune and I've been running for 6 months HARD since it's been tuned but I don't want to run into the same problem with a blown motor.

Also, would my current AP1 setup be a direct bolt on to an AP2 motor?

Thanks again guys for the insights.

new build, go big or go home!

btw, the 6th gear thing is also a time elapse thing. you are putting an incredible amount of heat into your engine for very long, you will melt a piston ringland (i suspect this is what happened). even if you were racing and you HAD to shift from 5th to 6th, you were still in it too long. the oil jet bolts would've definately helped, but saved? i doubt it.

find a used f22 and get it retuned. skip on the 3mmhg. if your hellbent on lowering CR, buy some mahle pistons, aftermarket rods, and have fun.

log mani can still do 400whp on stock hg.

yes sir it was. It was a budget build that was on the car for over a year and a half, but only saw real boost about 6 or 7 months ago and it was daily driven HARD! haha

I don't think the fact that it was pieced together had a vital role in this situation, even the tuner was pretty impressed with the amount I spent and how it did on the dyno.
