problem w/ synapse BOV
I started having trouble w/ my Synapse BOV recently. When I let off the throttle when building boost, instead of one hard "woosh", it goes "chi chi chi chi".
I have always had it connected with a a line from the turbo to port C, and ports A & B are tee'd off the intake manifold.
I tried changing the lines, I left port C connected, and just ran vacuum to port A. This temporarily fixed the issue, It was working off properly for 15 minutes, then it went back to the "chi chi chi chi" sound.
Any ideas whats causing this?
Im also not hitting a full 12psi, I just finished replacing my cracked manifold yesterday, the car is definitely driving better. Im thinking the boost problem might be BOV related.

I have both Port A and B running off of the intake manifold (post throttle body) and Port C running off of the charged intake pipe (pre throttle body). Two years old and still a strong discharge in working the gears on my morning three digit drive across ”a” bridge…
EDIT: Fricken wrong port...

If your sure all the hoses are hooked up right, might want to take the back of the BOV apart to check a small spring inside. I had the same problem earlier.
After a few e-mails and voice mails to Synapse with no reply, I took it apart and found that the center spring was broken.
I first just removed the short end that broke and cleaned out the shavings and tighten up the adjuster. Wasn't really the same.
The final fix was replacing the spring all together with some random spring hardware from Home Depot and been running good over a yr since.
I like this BOV but, the service is just sad. Hope this helps. Gl

Once I heard the flutter, never went in boost with it so, couldn't tell you. I didn't want to damage the turbine so didn't drive it til it was fixed.
I got a spring from ace hardware & it fixed the problem
Glad I could help someone from my experience. Looks like a weak link in this BOV. If they would just answer my e-mails, they'd know it's a problem that should be addressed since last yr. Wonder how many they sold since. At least others that have this will know what to fix when this problem occurs with theirs.
made in china spring???????
last I heard they were making these valves in china and having Vibrant import them in. Ever wonder why a San Diego Based company has their world wide distribution done by a company in Canada?
