inline pro has been real good to alot of us on this forum and i for one have never had any problems getting great service from them when it comes to anything.

maybe you should just shy away from buying this car your so set on and get one that isnt an "entry level" car as you so say. spend your money on the vette or the porche. that way you can get your pre-purchase inspection that very few people here have ever heard of anyway. who in there right mind would let you rip apart their car before you buy it ? nobody. buy a new car and do all the work yourself if your so worried about it.

Actually you may have read into my posts a little too deeply. Many here act as though the S2000 is bulletproof and no inspection is necessary because they never fail. All I was stating was an observance that this is decidedly not the case at least when modified. They are at least as susceptible to failure as any auto and moreover, based on observation, I suspect (don't know) that the average S2000 owner does not maintain with the same diligence as say a 911 owner. Far from me to question Honda build quality as I have always claimed they were amongst the best built in the industry. However, like it or not, there are some S2000 advocates who have become so enamoured with the vehicle, they way overexagerate it's "uniqueness" and "stonelike reliability".
That's an incorrect assumption. I would say that a majority of s2000 owners (51%) maintain their own car (due to Honda dealers being idiots) while a majority of 911 owners are clueless about their car, since the dealer does everything for them.

I don't know what this s2000 has that you want it so much, but for such a big purchase, I suspect a $300 plane ticket would be a wise investment.

Anyway, good luck with your venture.

I would strongly disagree, I have many clients both with s2000s, porsches, and just about every other car u can think of.

I would easily say the people who own the porsches, know more about automobile dynamics in general. especially in the road race market.

Most dont do the servicing themselves mostly because they can afford to have someone else do it, and they are picky about resale with the service history record.

The 3 cars that did break at TGPR, 2 had were supercharged. 1 differential, 1 broken shredded blower belt, and 1 car that has had trans work before lost reverse.

The Broken diff was on a high boost KW car, the Vortech belt was most likely loose before the event.

I wouldn't make to many reliability claims on this 1 event. Modded cars will break more often, always.

I've been to several events at TGPR with broken STi's, M3's, Miatas Etc.

I wonder if it might be that the folks at InlinePro just thought that you were a bit of a prick and decided to have their way with you. If you did there as you did here, (you log onto an S2000 enthusiast website and bash their car, talking about how real sports car people insist on stripping a car down to its component parts before buying, to ensure its worthiness, and in general coming off as a snobs snob) it might be easy to get that impression, however nice a person you actually are.

I hope that's not the case and wish you luck with your endeavor.

I really don't know how you formed this opinion. The strengths and inherent weaknesses of this car are well documented and acknowledged in this and the Under The Hood forums.

And you only need to scan the titles of this forum to note the problems associated with FI'ing this car.

I think that you have been let down twice by Inline and due to your distance this issue has been amplified into a rant against Inline and the S2000 in general. Get over it. Move along. Nothing to see here.
