quick question
first off i'd like to say that i'm a noob when it comes to forced induction...and this topic probably has been brought up before but from what my grease monkey friends tell me with a car like ours...high revving, high compression cars in order to keep a turbo reliable the compression ratio needs to be lowered to maintain a safe level of high boost? are there any companies that sell a stroker kit to lower the compression ratio for our cars? if so what do most of the FI guys here have?

I guess I can say what everyone is gonna say SEARCH!
Anyway, first off find what your budget is and really figure out if you can afford going turbo. Because no matter what car, it is never bolt-on and carefree. Find your budget look at the various kits available for the car. Then pick as far as compression goes, stock is fine at low boost or you can boost higher with a headgasket (2mm or 3mm). And if you don't mind spending money then build the motor and then you can boost at any level you desire. There are many companies.
Turbo:
-Full-Race (Goes first because I have it)
-Inline-Pro
-Greddy (IMO not worth the money unless you don't mind stock boost and don't plan on upgrading too much)
-Lovefab
And if you really don't want to deal with all the issues forced induction brings you (Turbo) then go supercharger route. Just because it is a supercharger don't get the idea that it is neccessarily bolt-on and be happy. AGAIN I KNOW THERE ARE CASES OF SOME PEOPLE PUTTING A TURBO/SUPERCHARGER AND HAVING NO PROBLEMS. I am speaking about the masses.
Supercharger:
Vortech
Comptech (Might be outta business)
Kraftswerk (Looks promising)
Decide your budget, and then decide besides the kit if you can afford all the supporting mods and any emergency fixes. Other than that you are good to go and that should lead you in the right direction. Hope this helps!

Thanks James for the input..i guess i should have clarified that searching for "low compression" i end up with too many different threads that i'm not willing to read through
...money isnt an issue cause i'll be making enough of it for the next year (deployment money is great...tax free deployment money is even greater)
...i always loved the idea of having a turbo'd car so i'm willing to try out a turbo...from what my friends have told me i'm in the green zone just as long as i switch out my compression ratio...however just like you stated earlier if i stay with the stock compression and switch to high boost i'll end up blowing up my engine..is an aftermarket headgasket included with a stroker kit?...i looked up on toda's 2.2l stroker kit (for turbo) and i can't recall it stating aftermarket headgasket included
edit: i was also looking at the turbo kits available for my07...does inline pro offer a kit for the 06+? i know there has been an issue with the drive by wire for the 06+...just wondering if they solved that problem out by now
and EMS question...what are most people here using?

Yep, SPC Gonzo got it right. If you just swap out the head gasket, compression drops to 9.something to 1, which is fine for high boost. I'm still waiting for Kraftwerks to sell me a supercharger for my '02, so I don't know sh*t from personal experience, but from what I read here, you can boost up to about 10 - 12 psi on stock gasket. That seems to net anywhere from 300's up to 450-ish WHP. Past that is where you need to lower compression.
However, if you're looking for someplace to dump all that dough, then drop your ride off at InlinePro, just outside Fort Belvoir, VA and tell them you want the works. They specialize in S2000's and sell all kinds of mods, including a great turbo setup and, IIRC, a rear-end swap from a Nissan that just won't break.
It's nice to see soldiers getting decent pay to deploy; between that and the new boots/ACU's, it looks like I got out too soon.

Hey James! Hope you are doing alright!
As a MY06+, you are limited by a few things. Let start of with engine management choices.
Your options for engine management..
1) Greddy Emanage Ultimate - good piggyback unit, but you must make sure you find a EXCELLENT tuner for this! All the horror stories you hear about this is usually due to a bad tune!! A plus is this is OBDII compatible (i.e. can read codes, pass inspection).
2) AEM EMS - This is a full standalone computer. This is what most of the FI guys you know are using. Problem is there is no DBW solution from AEM. Mike at Autowave in California makes a special harness and modifies the AEM EMS so it can be used with a DBW car. However, it is expensive (I think it's about $1000 more in total than a standard EMS unit). Also, it actually retains the stock ECU to control the DBW. This causes the stock ECU to throw a CEL and you lose VSA and Cruise. Also, it isn't OBDII compatible, i.e you must find a way to pass inspection.
The tuner to goto for AEM in the Metro area is Jeff Evans; however, last I spoke to him, he had some reservations about tuning this modified AEM unit as he wasn't sure he would be able to fully utilize the features of the EMS. I would speak to him again.
The tuner to goto for Emanage is Giles in NH.
3) There is talk of a Kpro coming out for MY06; it has not been confirmed so I will leave it at that.
Second problem is the fuel system; the MY06 has a returnless fuel system.
Read this thread for more info on why it is limiting:

I think before you start worrying about the two above factors, decide what you really want from the car. I wouldn't necessarily count out the Kraftwerks kit, which is a plug and play solution for DBW guys which comes with a reflashed ECU and works perfectly with OBDII etc.
So, what is your goal?
