Default race fuel

My next tune I want to tune the car with race fuel. I have been trying to find a gas station close enough for refills. The closest one I can find has 100 octane. Will that do the job or should I look for a higher octane?

116 is your best bet if you are going to spend the money on a race tune. I run mine on VP racing c16 exclusively, all the time. I am friends with a dealer and can get it off the back of his truck anytime. 100 octane is hardly race gas imho 110 would be better.

You can always order racegas from someone and have it shipped.

Thats what I figured. Would be better to just to a meth kit? Or would it be better to do a meth and race fuel kit?

100 octane is $6 a gallon how much would 116 be?

Last time I bought c16 here in Tn it was 10 bucks a gallon for torco. And I ran both meth and c16 on my race gas tune.May have been overkill.

Better safe then sorry. You say race gas tune, can you have a tune for race gas and for 93? How much of a difference in hp will it be with c16 and 93 on average? OR meth. It may be worth just getting meth for the price it's going to cost to use c16. Is 116 that much better than 110? Around a $6 difference per gallon.

Where are you buying your drums?

No real sense in tuning for extreme power if youre not really going to use it ever. You could tune for meth or E85, and thats what I would do. Im paying ~$1.80 for E85, cant beat running that all the time.

I was very happy with my car tuned on E85, will try to make the new one converted that way too.

100 oct is fine. Readily available, relatively cheep and more than enuff power to be made.
