Thumbs down Random not starting after shutting down

Hey guys, randomly my car wont start 2 minutes after I shut it off. It turns and turns but just doesnt fire up. Its not like when I had a blown headgasket and the plugs where wet, but I just dont get it. It happens randomly, is my fuel pump not priming prooerly? is it colder plugs in cold weather?

Anyway, if I just leave it for 5 minutes when it does this, it usually fires up but just random and curious

Wasn't there a post about this in the summer with ID1000s and aem ems causing the "whooomp" noise. The injectors fire for a split second when the aem ems is turned on and spits fuel into the engine flooding it. I know my car randomly does this and has trouble firing afterwards also.

That is an issue in that the AEM EMS ignition controller is software driven and briefly starts up for a second when powered on. Thats not his issue. My ID2000s don't cause me any problems.

do you give the aem a few seconds to load and wait for the pump to prime before you try turning it over? I always waited about 10 seconds after turner the key to ON position and it helps with the aem startup.

Ok, so its the AEM Series 2 issue huh, or ID10000s?

Im just glad its not my motor

F--- annoying though

What are your coolant temps when you try to restart it? Try logging that next time it happens.

I wonder if it could also be leaky injectors leaking fuel into the engine when you turn it off when they're at operating fuel pressure. That would flood it. Next time it happens, try starting it with the gas pedal to the floor.

Wasn’t there a symptom like this with the old 1012ems with the coil driver. Something about a weak signal to the cam sensor. Seems like these symptoms still happen on the 1052 and maybe the Series 2? Cam sensor going bad maybe?
