Default Removed the Insulation under the hood

Hey, I have had some issues with my sound proofing/heat guard thing under my hood, so I neatly removed it, the sound of the Turbo spooling sounds 2x as nice without this sound dampening thing, but will this cause the hood to heat up more, and cause more heat under the hood then before?, or start to damage the paint on the hood

Thanks

I would think the paint would be more prone to fading more quickly than it would otherwise, but that is just a guess.

You should be fine. I ran my FD's without any hood insulation for years with no problems. Well actually, they got burned off and I never bothered to replace them.

well, the insulation prevents heat from getting to the hood, and hold it in the engine bay. if anything, by removing it the hood can now act like a heat sink and carry heat out to the air above the engine bay.

all that does is to insulate the heat inside the engine bay.

So removing the hood insulation is a good thing then ? Heat will escape faster ?

Yes, because the stock hood is aluminum and will act like a heat sink and absorb and dispense the heat very quickly.

i would imagine the paint would wear quicker on the hood?

From what I have read that it shouldn't really hurt the paint but I could be wrong. Don't remember where I read that either. I think that insulation is mainly for fire suppression it if bursts into flames. Didn't realize it would help get rid of heat. Maybe I'll take mine off too.
