Default Removing Gasoline

Looking to do my fuel pump this weekend.

I have a full tank topped off in my car i put in October when I stored my car.

Wanted to do my fuel pump this weekend for one of the projects and don't want a huge mess of fuel on the garage floor. Is there a drain bolt of some sort to cleanly drain it out?

Another reason I want most of this gas gone is b/c my tuner says it'll be a good idea to get fresh gas in there before we throw it up onto the dyno.

Any suggestions will be nice.

I took the line off the rail and pumped it out, but for a full tank that may take some time.

So you took the line of and pumped it out how?

Just pulled the line and turned the key to the on position?

I've changed the pump with 3/4 tank and no spill.

It's like taking dishes out of a sink with water. Hold it up, let it drip and put a towel under it. Bingo. No need to drain the tank.

I'd still put fresh fuel in it before you go in for tunning.

Yep, with the AEM you can increase the pump cycle time to 30 sec's or so and just cycle it a few times. Other wise you can just jump the fuel pump relay.

Is the fuel pump relay in the fuse box under the hood? Also, what relay numbers would you jump to get the pump to run constant? I mean, when you pull the relay out, what two connections in the fuse box do you connect to get the pump to run constant? You could tell us by what numbers are on the relay.

Just take the fuel return line off and put it into a gas can and start the car. It will keep coming out of the return until there is virtually nothing in the tank. You can let it keep running until the car shuts off, this will mean all of the fuel is out of the rail as well.

its not difficult and you wont have a massive spill even at 3/4ths tank

and also if your gonna have the car tuned that fuel wont go bad, if anything... leave the gas cap off for a few days and it will evaporate then top it off with 110 octane. that would work
