^ right, but its efficient enough for the oem setup. a big front mount would be leaps and bounds better, but at what cost to the customer ya know?

i say leave it on there bro. honda put it there for a reason, they dont just waste money and design time on unnecessary parts.
I'd agree w/Honda not putting unnecessary parts on a car...but at the same time...it's a clearance issue for me..

I don't see the need, I'd like to use an aftermarket cooler, but they are so pricey.

IMNSHO there is some misinformation here.

You cannot just remove the oil filter and cooler/warmer and screw on an adaptor. This is because the adaptors are meant to replace a filter and need the standard screw fitting. The S2000 doesn't use a standard screw fitting. It uses a larger screw in tube with a 30mm hex on it to both hold the cooler/warmer and mount the filter. You need to replace this with a conventional shorter threaded tube from a Civic for example.

Here is a picture of what the S2000 uses beside what most other cars use:

I had a hell of a time ordering it. First they told me $700, but that was for the cooler/warmer that I told them I was removing. Then they asked me for a VIN number so they could get the part for the right car. I told them I wanted it for the wrong car.

Eventually they understood what I wanted and it cost me $6.

Here's the part number if that helps:

FYI, just highway cruising with the air temp ~80F and the A/C on, the coolant stays right at 89C and the oil temp ~99C. If you remove the stock oil cooler, the oil temp will go up a bit. Seems to me that Honda sized it pretty well as ~100C is right around where you want the oil to boil off any moisture in it.

Id have to say, having NO oil cooler on a boosted car, is stupidity. So, definitely DONT go that route.

What's the point in saving a few hundred on an external cooler if it costs you engines.

Especially considering the fact that most turbos are oil cooled, it's definitely going to heat the oil up more than a stock car.

Oil coolers were cheap last I remember.. Especially for those with oil filter relocation kits.. adding an oil cooler would be trivial.

Got a PWR Radiator coming in with the oil cooler in the bottom tank.

AusS2000 do you think I will need the Civic part if I run it as below

Block> Stock OIL cooler/heater> Canton adapter (to feed oil to and from the PWR cooler)> Stock Filter and filter location.

I will also be drilling and taping the Canton adapter to get temp before the PWR oil cooler and pressure post cooler and filter.

OR

Would you recommend to just remove the factory cooler/heater??
