Default Retorquing head bolts

Sorry gang, I did not search. What is the concensus on how long before retorquing the head bolts after motor install... if any? The studs are ARP's.

Thanks,

Why dont you build yourself a motor first then ask the question

I had spoken to commetic and they did say retorqing is not needed with their gasket, then again I don't know what gasket you are running.

I also spoke to ARP and they said they usually retorque their bolts. that means taking the whole damn valve train off...

Cometic 2mm and ARP studs.

Car's been up and running for a week and a half, O'Neil. And it's great to be back inthe saddle.
ever since I put my 2mm and stock bolts, I haven't torqued mine but then again you are running ARP studs.

However, my local engine builder told my that it's not necessary to torque them down.

My ARP studs were torqued down, and then 2 90 degree turns. Those were the instructions from Laskey. We really had to turn them hard and were a little worried about crushing the aluminum head, but all seems to be fine. Then again, I haven't started her up yet.

Interesting. I don't believe we did that... I didn't help much with the build/install. I do know, however, that we're pushing a ton of boost out of the Comptech. I'm keeping an eye on my temp gauge religiously as well as getting to make sure the heater blows hot when turned on.

Yesterday's boost reading on dyno:
