Thumbs up RPM's dropping

Hey Guys,

Have a supercharged 01 with an AEM unit. Comptech SC with Comptech headers. - not a gear head in any way shape or form. Purchased after having it inspected by an AEM certified mechanic and tuned last year. Never any problems, only 17k miles.

Starting this weekend, when I press on the gas pedal, the RPM's start up, then fall, then go up again. Only in gear. Does not happen when in neutral. If I stomp on the gas in any gear (not first so much), the RPM's shoot up, but the transfer to the wheels is delayed. Gives what I would describe as a slipping feeling.

The only thing different that I did was remove the silencers from the exhaust yesterday.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Ouch... that can't be good... it is an aftermarket clutch, Exedy I believe... As long as it needs to be replaced, is there a different clutch I should look at?

300 whp. I was just looking at ads, etc. seems like ACT is reasonably priced and popular. A package comes with the disc and pressure plate.
I haven't seen an ACT flywheel. I imagine I need one of those thingies too?

Another question, there is a 4pad and 6pad, blah blah, what's that all about?

I am so car stupid... and my pop was an auto mechanic for 50 years... if you have a medical question, I can help. : )

Thanks...

If you want a clutch with a good pedal feel, look at getting Competition Clutch products. They are great at handling power, and also engine friendly

PM me if you want a price.
