Default Running Comptech SC without Airbox?

Anyone running their Comptech S/C's without the airbox? Any difference? The Comptech Airbox hit's the new CF hood that I got so I am planning on running my setup with out the airbox...just the exposed filter...

shoudn't be that big a deal... you'd get a little more heatsoak, and the filter will get dirty alot faster, but so long as there isn't a vent over the filter where water would get directly on it, you won't have a problem

I tried once before for a week. It is definitley more heat soak plus the intake tube is weak so the filter shakes around a lot.
