Default running lean

hello guys
i finished installing my comptech a/c s/c with the 7psi pulley
we got almost 300rwp but...
the "doctor" said that the engine is running a bit lean at high rpms so i better leave the car in the garage untill greddy e manage arrives.

please comment that

is 300rwp ok for the 7psi pulley?
will i gain more hp with the e manage or the engine will work safer?

as we say in Greece "i have the honey but i cannot eat it" yet

Yep, 300 on a comptech SC @ 7psi is about correct and the running lean is to be expected without some kind of engine management.

I'd agree with your tuner too and wait till you emanage comes in so it can be more precisly tuned. You will probably loose a little bit of HP if he must richen up the mixture (remember more lean = more horsepower but less safe) but your going to gain a much more reliable engine.

I have the same set up with the same results. We adjusted the FPR and took care of the problem down low, but it remined up high. I am trying to fix the top with a VAFC II, but havn't gotten it to the dyno to finish the job yet.

Has any comptech users been able to get a good tune with using just the fpr and no ems/emanage/vafc when they install the 7psi pulley?. Im currently looking at mine wondering if I should drop it in with no other means to tune it except the fpr

i had mine tuned @ comptech here in california and it still went. That being said at least an emanage should do the trick. This time around i have an aem ems and will be doing it right.
