My ex that is always in some kind of competition with me just bought a 2010 GTR Premium.

So I think I have to do just that.

You also have to think about the belt slip issues with vortech blowers.
I think someone had a SOS 16psi pulley with a built engine.. only made around 440whp? on King's Motorsports dyno i believe.

I agree, its unfair to compare that engine. It is infact 9.8:1 at 18psi and a stock bore and stroke F20C engine, not a F22C...big difference right there. Its also a stock header/head/intake manifold and throttle body, not to mention the invidia 70mm header back with a V4 (which some people consider restrictive)

Alot of good points here... Some I already took into consideration...however, still...why hasnt anyone pushed the envelope yet? Seems to be the thing to do lately.

The SOS track car has 10.5/.8:1 with a 1200 blower at 17psi and made 450whp... Id say 500 is obtainable with a nice header and 22psi on race fuel.

What I want to see:
SOS kit with 1200 blower at 22psi on a F22C stock engine...Anyone willing to jump of that plank...?
I'd give it a go if someone would lend me a spare F22C motor.

On a serious note...I'll keep slowly pushing the one I have. I'd have to have a second S2K before I went into an all race gas setup.

After reading Rob!'s thread about hitting 750+whp on race gas and a 3mm headgasket it makes me wonder why nobody is running a SC application on a stock engine at max boost.

This has been brought up alot lately in this thread but still nobody has done it. Obviously the stock engine can handle 25+psi on a stock engine with or without a headgasket swap. Most SC kits cannot handle over 25psi. Im near my limit with the Nov1000 and personally, its not worth it for me or I would be doing it already.

The newer kits use a 1220/1220 SL blower (I think SOS, VORTEC, and CT Engineering all use this blower) Yet people are stopping at around the 13 psi area. Not sure if any of you know this but SOS has an option to sell a larger crank pulley that will net the 1220/1220SL blower more psi, a 3.0incher will net you 18psi (518135 has it) instead of 13. So basically the 1220SL maxes out at 18 psi. Pretty good compared to the 1000 that maxes out SAFELY at 12/13psi.

Also, what 518135 and myself did not know is that SOS also sells a 1200 blower upgrade. Its a larger blower than the 1220 and it can flow 100 more CFM at 22psi. (super high is you ask me).

I know most of you already are thinking "why is this idiot posting this information, we already know this!" But I just want to make it a little more public that these upgrades are available so maybe some of you guys will bite the bullet and push the limits!
Your assumption that they all use the same blower is incorrect. Your assumption that the 1220SL maxes out at 18 psi in the S2000 is also suspect. Has anyone seen 16 or 17 psi much less 18psi with the 1220SL?

This is not your silly gauge readings but dyno readings for boost. Gauges are notorious for reading wrong.

There is a max boost with all of these centrifugal compressor superchargers used in s2000 applications somewhere less than the published factory psi numbers. To obtain max boost on our very efficient engines you need a charger that will move about 1400 to 1600 cubic feet per minute. Check out the Vortech V7 Ysi trim.

I ran a Vortech S trim all the way out to 53,000 impeller rpm and saw 17 psi. I developed a piston/ring failure on my stock block.

The only way to get it beyond there was to change the trim. Vortech offers a racing t-trim that improves efficiency nicely. I have seen 19 to 21 psi with the t-trim on my built engine. There are other upgrades for other brands.

Belt slip can be over come for the most part with specialty pulleys and belt dressings.

s.hasan546 - I think the upgrade if you already have a 1220sl blower is around the 1600 range, I might be wrong though....518135, chime in and post what SOS quoted you at for a 1200 blower upgrade with the hardware. Otherwise I think its 400 more when you buy the whole kit new...

CodyLX450 - Your ex has a GTR? Please post her name and number...if you do not mind.

EternalLx - If you can get me a name, breif desc. on the car, and a city where the car is from Ill be able to talk to King and get info about that particular build.

Sideways - Thanks for correcting me, I wasnt too sure about the blowers. I know for a fact the 1220sl maxes out at 18psi with the 3.0in and larger crank pulley. 518135 is running that on his F20C motor. All gauges are not correct. 518135 is running a tru-boost gauge/controller. WHere did you get the number for CFM? Thats a pretty large blower, would that even fit in the S2000 engine bay?

Also, Sideways I appreciate you jumping in on this, we all know that you know what your doing

hmm rain h8r im confused in what i want to do with my car. i wont hv the money to do a big build until the summer or even the winter afterwards.

I either wanna go big turbo and shoot for 500+ on an elt mani.

OR

Go with a 1200 bower on the sos kit with a built motor and max it out. try to get numbers like krazik or better.

Problem is turbo will always be easier to put out more power. Now the only thing is how much do i really wanna work on my car. i like the ease of a scer kit.
