Default S/C INSURANCE QUESTION

I've been reading up on this form for awhile and I've learned A LOT.

I'm going to be getting the Comptech S/C very soon and the last issue that I'm trying to deal with is insurance.

How do I go about getting my S/C insured?

What I'm getting at is.......is there any DO's and DON'T's in regards to telling your insurance company you are FI?

Any help on this issue or personal experience would be appreciated.

I'm assuming that you all have your S/C insured so If I'm wrong on that......Let me know!!

They don't ask, I don't tell. If you have receipt's you should be able to get everything covered.

Do you mean in the event of a car theft or "total loss" crash?

If I inform insurance.......won't the premium go up? I don't want to sound nieve here guys.....but I am in this case.

So far what I'm hearing is:

Don't tell the insurance company and in the event of a claim, show my receipt that I had a S/C on the car to get reimbursed..

Each company has different policys. You need to talk to a agent and ask them specifically. Some companies will cover anything you install on your car, others will only cover original parts.

But have you ever heard of an insurance company "dropping" coverage due to a Supercharger?

Here is some good info provided by SEMA regarding claim denials. This will give you an idea of what the insurance company might try and pull on you!

Well this sucks!!!!!! I have Geico and have outstanding premiums. Less than $450 every 6 months for the S.

I don't want to blow all that...... but I don't want to bolt this damn thing on and not tell them either.

You bolt it on and get into an accident they're going to deny the claim whether you tell them or not.
