Angry S2000 and NoS... Good Idea?

Here's the thing... I want and NEED more power. My 2000 was the most fun and power i needed when i bought it at the begging of the year but, I am being beat up by them damn 350z's and M3's. I rode in a friends volvo the other day with a 75HP shot of nos and WOW!!! too much fun. SO FAST. Is this a danger with the high compression this car has... or the 9,000 redline? I want the most bang for the buck and don't want to go the forced induction route. I only want to mod the intake, exhaust, and possibly a VAFC2. I wont use it much, just when i need that little extra boost for those other bad a$$ cars. Is this a bad idea??? will I totally eat the life of my honda and risk and engine KA BOOM!!!

YES.

My friend got a 50 shot installed and he fell in love with it. Then put the 75 nozzle on and in 2 weeks was calling me for a ride when his motor said buh bye.

Save your money and buy the SC and you will be more than happy. You will beat a lot of cars and not worry about your motor blowing up.

I feel totally with you, but what kind of $$$ do you have in the engine mods alone with a SC setup, and if i have that is the aftercooler a must?

no engine mods just the injectors that i needed when I upped the boost. And you won't need the aftercooler but should get it for more safety reasons than HP gain.

With the deals I got I spent a total of $4,300 on the SC with the aftercooler and install.

After that I did the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, pulley, front mount, injectors, plugs, vafc, tunning which ran the bill up about another $2.5G's.

screw the hood and wheels. Make it fast first and then worry about other stuff.

I had an 00 before this one and had a full autentic C-West Kit, VIS hood, JDM lights, wing, but the car was still slow.

I decided to do the engine mods first this time around and I'm much more happier. Even though it doesn't look super cool, it'll kick your ass.

But if you are just looking to have a little extra kick if you were to ever need it then No2 is the way. There is a guy selling his kit for cheap somewhere in the sale forum.

Where you from?

did your friend have any supposting mods and was that a wet kit?.....contrary to popular belief nitrous will not tune it self. A good kit would consist of:

NOS Sportsman fogger direct port (80 shot)
MSD window switch
WOT switch
2 steps colder plugs
fuel pump
fpr
and some sort of tuning

extras are like purge, bottle warmer, remote on/off (which is very useful if the solenoids ever do get stuck open), a/f wideband, fuel pressure guage, etc.

If done right and tuned right nitrous will out perform the stock supercharger for a fraction of the price.
