Say no to crack!
So I popped the hood Saturday morning to finally chase down an annoying rattle i've had for a couple of days. Much to my horror I found this:

Sorry about the blurry engine shots, i had the camera on macro mode to capture the closeups and forgot to switch it back.
I wrote an email to a contact at Comptech my friend just dealt with regarding some defective RSX-S lowering springs. I'll be calling them shortly after lunch. I figure i'll at least let him get a cup of coffee down before I ask a bunch of questions about this ordeal

Wow......that looks like a really old bracket.... I didn't even know they made them that color.
Post up how much the replacement cost from Comptech.

Damn........that's a lot of scrilla for a bracket.. Is it a known part failure or just just bad luck?
Comptech covered their butt with the 2yr warranty limit on this one. I'm not giving them my business anymore due to my frustration with having to fork out the extra dough. I wouldn't knock their SC kit though in it's current form nor dissuade from doing business with them, my own bad experiences are not necessarily the norm for others.

I'd say it's a known at this point on the 1st generation brackets, the replacement/fix amounts to a bracket with bushings to dampen the vibration which causes the bracket breakage.
